First handler with STC compliance: Multitest MT2168
The Multitest MT2168 is the first handler in the market which accomplishes the standards for docking and interfaces definition suggested by the Semiconductor Test Consortium (STC). These standards target to improve productivity of final test equipment by enabling multi-vendor interoperability.

Multitest has actively worked with the Docking and Interface Working Group (DIWG) of the STC for several years. Being convinced of the industry wide benefits of this cooperation Multitest incorporated the DIGW standard in the design of the MT2168.

Says Günther Jeserer, Business Unit Manager at Multitest: “The great strengths of the MT2168 are its enormous flexibility and loadboard independence. So it was a matter of course to take these standardisation efforts into account.”

About the STC:
The Semiconductor Test Consortium was founded in 2003 to develop a common test architecture that is completely open, documented and supported via solutions available from all ATE vendors. Open to all companies throughout the semiconductor supply chain with a vested interest in the test sector, the consortium is focused on providing value-added standards that deliver technical & economic benefits to the global semiconductor industry.
